In 1998, Cedar Fair acquired one of Southern California's most popular amusement parks, Knott's Berry Farm.  Everyone knew this would mean many new improvements and additions to the park.  The first of those additions was Supreme Scream, the largest thrill ride of its kind.

Located in the boardwalk section of Knott's Berry Farm, Supreme Scream, manufactured by S&S Power, stands 325ft, and sends you free falling down an incredible 259ft plummet at 50mph.

How's that for sending chills down your spine?

..............

Supreme Scream is the tallest attraction in the park, and is the first thing you lay your eyes on upon entering the boardwalk.  The ride consists of three 312ft towers, connected with a pyramidal top.

You board the ride in one of three 12-person "scream vehicles", each equipped with secure over the shoulder restraints.

Your restraints are checked, and pretty soon you are heading to the top.  This is one of the most frightening moments of any thrill ride.  Each side of the tower provides a great view of the park.  After what seems like an eternity, you finally reach the top.  And wait.

After about six seconds, you hear a "boom", and you are suddenly dropping 259ft in three seconds flat, reaching speeds of over 50mph.  At the bottom, you experience 4 G's, before bouncing back up, making it half-way up the tower.  You bounce a few more times, and finally Supreme Scream comes to end.

 ..............

Supreme Scream is a very fun ride.  It is a bit frightening heading up the tower for the first time, but after one ride, most people will return to ride it again.  If you aren't afraid of heights (or looking to conquer this fear), then I definitely recommend taking a ride on Supreme Scream.  It is a ride you will not forget.
