 Roller Coasters: The Riddler's Revenge

Overview | User Reviews | Photos

 Overview

In 1998, The Riddler's Revenge debuted along with the newly themed Movie District, which was formerly known as Monterey Landing.  The ride, located near Freefall and Tidal Wave, became the centerpiece of the newly themed area.  Freefall's queue area was relocated in order to make room for the coaster.

The Riddler's Revenge is a stand-up coaster designed by Bolliger & Mabillard of Switzerland.  The ride is the park's second coaster from this design firm, with Batman: The Ride being the other.

Standing 156-feet in the air and reaching speeds of 65 MPH, The Riddler's Revenge is the world's tallest and fastest stand-up coaster.  The ride's massive structure towers over Batman: The Ride and all other attractions in the area.

The 4,370-foot layout features six mind-boggling inversions including a twisted 146-foot first drop, 124-foot vertical loop, two back-to-back dive loops, an inclined loop, and two barrel rolls.

Since the opening of The Riddler's Revenge, Bolliger & Mabillard have only designed one other stand-up coaster - Georgia Scorcher.  But the Riddler's popularity still remains strong and it is one of the most highly rated coasters in the park.
