New Entrance Model
Image

- The Little Mermaid's Approx. Price tag is $100 million. (Note: Though the price tag is big, it is not considered a E-ticket, but merely an attraction for now.)
- Carsland is price tag is $200+ million (Radiators Springs Racers - $300 million)
- Entrance is priced at around $ 75 million
- Name change is being discussed

Phase 1 of the project (The first 5 years) will use around $800 million of the 1.1-1.2 billion dollar figure. Phase 2 (Start around 2013) will use the remaining amount if turnstile clicks permit it, the remaining money might even get an extra boast if attendance reach 8+ million.

Current Schedule for announced things:

New Park Entrance Complex by 2011

-New Art Deco turnstiles pushed out to the current California letters
-Pacific Electric Red Cars(Removed due to safetly issues) to Hollywood and Radiator Springs
-Antique vehicles to Hollywood
-Carthay Circle Theater with new Walt Disney Story(Removed dur to the Number show shows and the amount of rides in park, Concept may be moved to Disneyland)
-Walt Disney Plaza
-1920's Los Angeles architecture throughout

Paradise Pier Remake 2008-2011 (Bulldozers will start moving in summer 2008)
-Toy Story Midway Mania in Mid-June (Soft openings in early June)
-DCA Preview Center (Moved inside of the park, will be placed at the Wine Country area) Replaced by bigger restrooms from across the path. The reason is because the Little Mermaid Ride will need the space to do a scene that is very "DisneySea" like.
-Disney's World of Color in late 2010 (winter) with new amphitheater
-Little Mermaid Attraction(Building is being finalized as an ornate Edwardian-era aquarium that could have been found at San Francisco's 1915 World's Fair) and play area(Triton water area)
-Goofy's Flying Academy
-Beer Garden
-Victorian architecture and themeing throughout
-Disney-Pixar character overlay to midway games

Cars Land expansion 2012
-12 acre expansion into the existing Timon Lot
-Radiator Springs Racers E Ticket
-Luigi's bumper tires C Ticket (a la' Flying Saucers)
-Mater's Spinner C Ticket
-Drive-In Movie Restaurant will be removed so Radiator Springs Racer due to extra costs added to Radiator Springs Racers
-Radiator Springs area development, stores, quick serve dining
-Realigned parade route

Phase 2 2013- (Updated 2-11-08)
- The Pacific Wharf area might be rethemed to the San Francisco area of the park. It's one of several proposals that are being pitched for the Wharf area in the Second Phase. Then the Golden State will get the retheming of the Extreme Sports look and have it replaced with the period "Yosemite" turn-of-the-century national park look that we've all been hearing about. The animatronic creatures native to California will dot the GRR attraction along with a much more elaborately themed Theodore Roosevelt style park area. The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be replaced with a new E-Ticket. The proposals are between a natural adventure type attraction and a vintage locomotive type attraction. Neither are themed to Disney cartoons for those of you that are ranting about the "cartooning" of the park.
- The Hollywood Backlot area will be themed more toward the 30's Hollywood that they abandoned in the early design phase of the park. There is a proposal to take all the area around the TOT attraction that is used for the road access to the Timon parking lot and transform it into the Golden Era of Hollywood with several ventures and areas that evoke the time when Walt Disney started to make motion pictures and buckle the system. Just as the new front entrance will give visitors a look at what Los Angeles was like when Walt came here in the late 20's, the Hollywood section will continue on that by focusing on the glory of Hollywood in the 30's.
- Car Land was designed to hold at least two more attractions. By the Second Phase we should see at least one more D-Ticket or a plussed C-Ticket at the least.
- The Paradise Pier area will get another E-Ticket during the Second Phase, most likely one of several that have been pitched for the helix next to the entrance of Screamin' or it will have an entrance there with an attraction behind the stage. Should enough money be available expect Goofy's Sky School to be taken down and a true E-Ticket put in its place. And the proposals so far include one attraction that is an original thrill ride and another that is based on a classic character.

Resort Expansion
- (Currently on hold due to problems during the planning stages, Towers may be rebuilt completely(4/8/08)Sometime before the end of spring the company should come out and finally reveal the "Extreme Makeover" plans for the Disneyland Hotel. Expect some artwork and a presentation along the lines of what we saw for the Grand Californian expansion a while back. Work should commence on one of the towers by the middle of summer should the current schedule be kept.
- Grand Californian Expansion should be completed by 2010
- There are plans for many proposed hotels. One would be in the Simba Lot, and greet guests entering the resort area. (i.e Paris, Tokyo)
- Retheming of the Paradise Pier Hotel
- Downtown Disney Expansion might take place around 2010 (Depending on AGW development)

Tomorrowland Update:
- Tony Baxters's version (Around 400-500 Million)
- Star Tours 2.0 will hopefully be up by the 55th.
- Take place over a 4 year period in 2-3 phases.
- When completed will have at least 1 E, and possibly 2 D's.

It all looks very promising. I'm really excited for the Radiator Springs Racers and the Little Mermaid attraction.

it all looks awesome. looks like DCA will get the lift it desperately needs to stay alive although the park is good now they will be able to keep guests in there all day rather then a few hours. I can't wait for the car ride it has been rumored for a long time and i have been dying for a next generation version of Test Track or even just a version of Test Track to come over to the west coast.

You know, they can't starting building soon enough. It really does suck that we are going to have to wait till 2011 or something to see this finished entrance. Good thing time is moving at such a rapid pace these days. It seems like the park just opened, yet is is already 7 years old. By the looks of how Midway Mania looks, I think we are in for a great future at DCA.

This really does look great! The park is just too small to be paying full price. It really could all be done in half a day, therefore should be half price!

In all seriousness, I think its a good idea with great detail. More E-Tickets comming!!!!!!!!

Sounds about right for a park that was built half-assed

It really was! I remember the first time I went I was utterly dissapointed especially with pacific warf just sitting there all by its lonesome (obviously wasn't 21 or else i'd be chillin' there with a beer). Other than that I felt the whole park was rushed just to open. That theatre that houses that asian flick (can't exactly remember the name) but the one with whoopi goldberg is/was the greatest waste of space and an insulting waste of time.

I fell that the themeing running into GRR is inappropriate its litterally 50ft of walkway with modern 'homes?' on either side.

^ Modern homes? That would be the San Francisco themed area. And those homes are not exactly "modern". but I know what you are saying. It sure has a weird feel to it. It will be interesting to see how it is after the Little Mermaid attraction is completed.

The park just doesn't have that "Disney" feel to it.

In Disneyland you escape, at California Adventure you feel like you're at some theme park in the middle of a suburb.

^ Yeah, in a lot of spots it does feel that way. Especially when you can look out and see the "real" world. That is part of the reason why Disneyland is so "magical." But with the new work being done, DCA should feel more immersive.

As long as DCA has attractions such as Maliboomer, Paradise Pier will always suck in terms of atmosphere. The new buildings are nice and all, but seeing Katella Ave from the park really sucks. The canyon walls surrounding Cars Land look pretty cool, though.

A triple post. Yeah, I think I am just talking to myself here. Heh.

Anyways, the bay is now full and testing has begun. I can't wait to see World of Color when it debuts next year. It's going to be sweet.

For example: This, this is awesome -

Now it is time to save money for that AP.
