Fire Dragon
After being amazed by Ice Dragon, I decided to run back in line to give Fire Dragon a try. Once
again, I chose to ride in the back. Before long, we were once again heading back
up the lift hill.
Just like on Ice, you travel down a dip and then soar through the first drop- only this
time, the drop twists to the left. From the bottom of the drop, you head into an
immelman, an interesting element that Ice Dragon lacks.
Coming out of the immelman, the train travels through the camelback, which is a unique
element on an inverted coaster. The camelback flies directly over Ice's
zero-G roll, creating an interesting foot-chopper.
Next up, the train flies through the second immelman; unlike Ice Dragon, Fire Dragon
does not have a wide variety of inversions. This leads into the ride's
signature element, the adjacent vertical loops.
From here, you head through a banked turnaround which leads into the final near-miss point,
the dueling corkscrews. Following this, you head through another banked turn and
a small section of flat track, which leads directly into another corkscrew, the ride's
final element. And finally, you head onto the brake run and back into the
station.
Fire Dragon is my personal favorite of the two. It's smoother, has better
pacing, and features a superior finale, with a corkscrew right before the brake run.
However, I do wish the elements have more variety. But overall, Fire Dragon is an
amazing inverted coaster.
